1.8 What impact does the Safety Sub-type have on a task?

Updated on

Essential Resources: To complete this training you must have access to eFACTORYPRO.

This training will take you through what impact the Safety Sub-type has on a task in the Work Module.

This Task Activity Sub-type is used anytime the work being done is a repair to a safety device or that has an impact to safety.  You can use it on all types of work: Reactive, Proactive, or Other Work Orders.

Work Module: Work Order/Task Creation

1. During Work Order/Task Creation, Safety is marked by sliding a Toggle between the default view (Not Safety Related) to Safety Related (if applicable.)

2. Marking the work with the Safety Related Toggle will automatically raise the priority to 1-Emergency.

3. Because the toggle was marked during the creation of the task, you will see the Safety information in the grid.

4. You could also find this task under the Open Safety Tasks view.

5. The sub-type and priority are noted on the summary panel.

Keep in mind, because this Work Order/Task has a Priority 1-Emergency, any part needs that are ordered for this Task will default to that priority as well.

Work Module:  Adding Safety to an existing Task

1. Go to the Task Summary Screen and click the pen icon to Edit.

2. Click on the Task Activity Sub-type drop-down.

3. Choose Safety from the list.

4. Click Save.

Work Module: Adding Safety to the PM Job Plan

Because Safety can also be used on PMs, it can also be added to the PM Job Plan.  This will cause the PM to be marked as "Safety" every time the Task is generated.

1. From the Navigation Pane of the Work Module, click on Planner/Scheduler>Planning>Job Plans.

2. Using the filters, search for the Job Plan you wish to modify.  Once you find it, click on the three dots at the end of the line and choose "Edit Job Plan."

You can search by description, Job Plan ID, etc.  There are several ways you can customize the filters until you find the Job Plan you are looking for.

3. The Job Plan Opens to the Summary Screen.  On the left hand column you will see a column for Sub-types.  Click the drop-down arrow

4. Choose Safety.

5. Click Save.

Task Activity Sub-types will show on both your Shift Turnover Reports and in Power BI Reporting.
