7.34 PLANNING WIZARD/Job Plan: How do I assign a new Job Plan to a Task in the Planning Wizard?

Updated on

Up til now, you have only had the ability to use Task Templates (or Job Plans) on PMs or PdMs.  The Planner Portal gives you the ability to use "blank" as a type of job plans -- and these types can be used for ANY task type.

You can assign a "blank" job plan to a reactive task, or a project, or even a follow-up task to a PM.  The benefits of having reusable job plans that can be used for MRCT and MOTH work are many:

The Technicians get complete instructions.

The Planner Scheduler gets a chance to plan/schedule the work so there is less chance of it breaking into the work schedule.

By adding a duration to the work, you have a much better understanding of the work commitment.

1. From the Navigation Pane click on Planner/Scheduler and select Planning.

2. Click on Tasks.

3. Place a checkmark in front of the Task(s) you wish to edit.

4. Click the "magic wand" icon to bring up the Planning Wizard.

5. One way to add an existing job plan is to use a job plan that is already tied to the equipment.  In this example, we can see that the original task was assigned to equipment CFM585 and that there is another Job Plan #47443 (called test validation) and Job Plan #45962 (called CM/FM: TROUBLESHOOT INLET CONVEYOR) that is also assigned to that equipment.

6. To change from the standard FM Task template to the Troubleshooting Task Template, click Assign.

If you do not see the job plan you want to use, you can click the Search Job Plan button to bring up other Job Plans in your site.  Simply click Assign to select.  In assigning the plan, it will associate the new job plan to that Asset ID as well.

If users see a Job Plan that is "Not Assignable". This means there is required info missing in that job plan. The user can open a new tab, fix that job plan, then assign it to the task.

7. A Confirmation message tells you that doing so will overwrite any changes you have made.  If you want to continue, click Yes.

8. The new Job Plan is now associated with the Task.

9. The only things that are saved from the original Task are the original description and any parts or links that have been added.

10. From here, you can check to see the steps have been replaced.

11. The duration has been updated.  Any skillsets that are assigned to the job plan will also come through.  In order to save properly, the Job Plan must have at least one skillset.

Please note, if there are any links and attachments that are associated with the Job Plan being assigned, they will be added to the task as well.

12. And the Summary Panel shows that the Task is ready to be marked as Planned.
