10.11 How can I tell if a tech is over scheduled?

Updated on

Essential Resources: To complete this training you must have access to eFACTORYPRO.

This article show you how you can tell if a tech is over scheduled.

There may be times when a technician needs to stay over to complete a special job, or when a customer has approved overtime. This is why we have NOT prevented you from scheduling someone above the allocated hours in Workday.

1. A warning icon will be displayed if the hours available for that day are exceeded by scheduled hours.

This warning sign will also be shown if a tech was scheduled for work on a day they have off.

2. To see what has been assigned to the tech for this day select Expand.

This will display all the tasks and details of each task.

3. To take the technician off a task, select the Task ID in the expanded view to open the task panel.

In this case, we want to remove an hour from the schedule, so we have decided to remove 674483.

4. To UNASSIGN the tech from this task select the eraser icon.

5. The Tech has been unassigned.

You can now assign it to another Tech.

Notice the Assign hyperlink will allow you to schedule this to a Technician in a different skillset than was originally required if needed.  Click here for an article on how to do that.

6. The Techs displayed hours will reflect this change.

As you now have the ability to assign break-in work with the "anyone" skillset and a one minute time-frame, you will want to be aware when you see a Tech who is over-scheduled and has .02 or .03 hours, as these Tasks will, in reality, take much more than a minute.
