This document will walk you through some of the Tips for Success in Using the Planner Portal. Some are conceptual, others tactical.
Set up the Control Center
Before you can begin you must visit the Control Center.
Planning - the first step of the WEM process.
The GOAL of the Planning screen is to ensure that all tasks have met the planning criteria before they move on to be scheduled.
In order for a Task to count as Planned it must have:
- More than one step
- A duration
- A skillset assigned (in the very near future)
MRCT & MOTH Tasks plus FM Tasks all generate in a NEW status, with one step, zero duration, and no skillset.
All PM/PdM tasks generate as In Planning/Ready for Scheduling as they have a numbered Job Plan/Task Template assigned to them.
Job Plans are required to have 2+ Steps, a duration, and at least one skillset before they can be saved.
Under the Planning Tab, you will see two screens: Tasks and Job Plans.
The Task Screen uses the Planning Wizard.
The Planning Wizard is the first step of the Planning Process.
The Job Plan Screen holds all the Task Templates for your site.
Having your Job Plans set up correctly from the beginning is crucial for success!
Schedule Portal: Period/Weekly Capacity
Scheduling consists of two screens: Period Capacity (usually weekly but does not have to be) and Daily Capacity.
Any task that does not get completed within the scheduling period will automatically go back as an "overdue" task at the end of the scheduling period to be rescheduled.
You will also see any task that has not been REVIEWED in the list of Overdue Tasks, as the Review process is the final chapter of the WEM Process.
Schedule Portal: Daily Capacity
In the Daily Capacity Scheduling, the default is the current week.
Technician Assignments
Most sites request Supervisor Access for Team Leads on 2nd and 3rd shifts so that if Break-in work comes in, they can assign it to a tech.
Keep in mind: Even if the Technician is NOT scheduled to the work, this doesn't prevent him/her from doing it, adding labor, etc. Our ultimate goal is still to keep the plant up and running -- not to stop production because the task has not been assigned.

You are done. Great job!
